Banana Date Smoothie

Today I am going to give you one of my favorites smoothies. The taste of this smoothie is immense, very complex, and it will leave you with the sense that you need more. What I believe takes this smoothie to an alternate dimension is the cardamom. Can’t explain this in words, but I will leave it to you to comment.

About the benefits of the ingredients;

This drink contain a good amount of bananas. Banana help you reach your weight-loss goals, keep your bowels healthy, provide nutrients that regulate heart rhythm and have vitamin compounds for eye health. Dates are a good source of various vitamins, minerals, energy, sugar and fiber. Essential minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, magnesium and zinc are found in dates. Cinnamon is one of the most delicious and healthiest spices on the planet. It can lower blood sugar levels, reduce heart disease risk factors. Finally we have cardamom which is originally from India and is commonly used in its cuisine. Cardamom has tons of benefits which we won’t even start to mention here. At last we added Flaxseed and Hemp seed will give this smoothie plenty of omega-3 fatty acids  plus add an extra boost to it dietary fiber content

 

What do you need?

2 medium bananas
1/4 cup pitted dates
2 cups almond milk
2 teaspoons flaxseed
2 teaspoons hemp seed
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom or 4 crushed seeds
1/2 lime, juiced
Dash of cinnamon
4 ice cubes (optional)

 

This recipe serves about 2 people.

Instructions: Blend all the ingredients together, with exception of the cinnamon and hemp seed, until you reach a smoothie consistency. Pour the smoothie in your favorite glass and add a dash of cinnamon and hemp seed to garnish.

You can add ice in case you want it to be thicker and cold.
